In some cases, particularly when running Reporting4Act! reports from the Act! menus, it is useful for the report to run for the currently visible item in Act!. Reporting4Act! provides functions to automatically retrieve the current company, contact, or group from Act!. These functions are:

GetCurrentCompanyID()
GetCurrentCompanyName()
GetCurrentContactID()
GetCurrentContactName()
GetCurrentGroupID()
GetCurrentGroupName()

For example, to have a report display information for the current contact in Act!, create a filter condition as shown below. Note that the Compare To option must be set to Expression, as the filter needs to evaluate the function, rather than searching for a contact named "GetCurrentContactName".
